EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an extensively researched psychotherapy method shown to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Additional research has shown EMDR to be an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, and other distressing life experiences (such as school shootings, car accidents, etc).
EMDR Therapy works through focusing briefly on the traumatic memory while simultaneously utilizing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements).
I offer EMDR therapy as both a primary mode of treatment and an adjunct to the traditional talk therapy model.
Additionally, I am trained in Christian faith integrated EMDR therapy for those who would like to utilize a faith based approach. This utilizes the techniques of EMDR therapy while being grounded in a Biblical, Christian worldview.
I also offer EMDR Intensives which include a Pre-Consultation Interview where we determine your suitability for EMDR therapy and to understand your specific therapy goals followed by Intensive Therapy Sessions ranging from half-days to multiple consecutive days which can allow for more rapid progress than traditional weekly sessions.
(Please note, intensives are not covered by insurance).
